Privacy Notice

1. Who we are
Shalom Mental Health Corp. ("we", "us") provides the Relationship Seasons Assessment™. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, which means we decide how and why your personal data is used. You can reach us at support@shalommh.com.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data — name, email address and login credentials (passwords are stored only as secure hashes).
- Assessment data — the answers you and, where applicable, your partner give, the results generated, and workbook content. Partner data is limited to the first name and email address you provide when inviting them, plus their own answers.
- Support messages — the content of any message you send us.
- Usage and technical data — device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from it, pages viewed, and error/security logs.
- Purchase records — which product you bought, when, the amount and the transaction reference. Card details are never collected or stored by us; they are handled by our reseller, Paddle.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- Creating and administering your account, delivering the assessment, results and workbooks, and sending the emails these require (partner invitations, receipts, password resets) — performance of a contract.
- Security, fraud prevention, abuse detection and keeping service logs — legitimate interests.
- Diagnosing faults and improving the product and its content — legitimate interests.
- Responding to customer support requests — performance of a contract.
- Optional marketing or product-update emails, and any non-essential cookies — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Tax, accounting and responding to lawful requests — legal obligation.
4. Sensitive information
Assessment answers concern your relationship and may feel personal. Treat them as private: results are only visible through the private links issued to you and your partner, and the shared couple view only appears once both of you have finished. The assessment is an educational and reflective tool. It is not a clinical diagnosis and it is not a substitute for therapy or medical care.
5. Who we share it with
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com Market Ltd handles the sale of our products, checkout, payments, subscription management, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds.
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and database providers, email delivery, error monitoring and analytics tooling, acting on our instructions.
- Your partner — only the couple-level comparison you both consent to by completing a couple assessment. Neither of you sees the other's raw individual answers unless the product explicitly presents them.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting and insurance advisers where needed.
- Authorities — where required by law, or to protect someone from serious harm.
We do not sell personal data.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. How long we keep it
Account, assessment and results data are kept while your account is open, and for up to 12 months afterwards so you can recover it if you return. Purchase and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires (typically 6–7 years). Security logs are kept for up to 12 months. After those periods data is deleted or anonymised. You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your account, assessments, answers and purchase links from our systems.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, provide it in a portable format, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Email support@shalommh.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your data protection supervisory authority.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest with our hosting provider, hashed passwords, role-based access controls and least-privilege access for staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong unique password and keep your private assessment links to yourself.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your place in an assessment and to protect against abuse — these are required for the service to work. Any analytics or marketing cookies are only set with your consent, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Paddle may set its own cookies during checkout, governed by Paddle's privacy notice.
11. Children
The service is intended for adults aged 18 or over and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app.
